Inergi Pursuing LEED Certification for Waste Management

Inergi, a leading provider of “concept to completion” product development and support services, announced today that it has partnered with Greenway Recycling Services of Madison to further its ongoing commitment to sustainability and to become one of the first companies in Huntsville to meet requirements for LEED certification for waste management.

Huntsville, AL, November 21, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Inergi, a leading provider of “concept to completion” product development and support services, announced today that it has partnered with Greenway Recycling Services of Madison to further its ongoing commitment to sustainability and to become one of the first companies in Huntsville to meet requirements for LEED certification for waste management.

Under the agreement with Greenway, waste material from Inergi’s daily operation will be separated and recycled at a local transfer station. Greenway will recover all reusable materials from a special dumpster located on the Inergi campus, and will then recycle those materials through its network of eco-centric partners.

Greenway’s partnerships include companies using scrap shingles in the production of asphalt, salvaged wood materials in paper production, and recyclers of plastics, vinyl siding, PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and metals.

In conjunction with this new initiative, Inergi is also pursuing LEED certification of its waste management process. LEED certification requires that at least 75% of waste materials be diverted and recycled. Inergi will be working toward this requirement over the next few months while GreenInergi coordinator Darrell Champion completes LEED professional accreditation.
