Paul Smith Joins FORM as Olympia Prepares for the New Modern and Contemporary Art and Design Fair for London
FORM London is a new exhibition bringing together modern and contemporary art, design, photography, ceramics and sculpture to create a dynamic showcase celebrating the diversity of 20th and 21st century style.
London, United Kingdom, January 24, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Olympia will open its doors from March 1st - 4th 2007 with a brand new, dynamic event for art and design lovers everywhere. FORM: London will embrace the diversity and creativity of 20th and 21st century style. The first of its kind in Europe, this selling show provides an exciting crossover between art and design and will focus on unique pieces, drawing together disciplines of modern and contemporary art, design, photography, ceramics and sculpture, into one unique international platform.
The focal point of the show is the central bar area, an evolving space where visitors can meet and interact and which features a unique selling exhibition of the work of American furniture designer Karl Springer, focussing on bronze and lizard skin pieces from the early 1970's. This collection comes from Paul Smith's furniture store, at 9 Albemarle Street. Paul Smith commented: "I have always admired the work of Karl Springer and am really excited that we will be presenting and selling his work at FORM."
FORM will showcase more than 100 vetted new and established dealers and galleries including: Gordon Watson, The Cynthia Corbett Gallery, Lucy B Campbell Fine Art, Good Eye Design, Redfern Gallery, Retrouvius and the Rebecca Hossack Gallery to name but a few. FORM will reach out to a new, younger audience with a variety of unique and limited edition pieces from contemporary and modern genres.
FORM will also include a range of unique features, including 'dna', a platform for the future. 'dna' will present an exciting fresh view of collecting trends to come and give FORM visitors a chance to buy them first.
FORM takes place from 1-4 March 2007, with a VIP preview day on Thursday 1st March.
