DataInfoCom Appoints Rick Chavez to Board of Directors
Partner at TCG Advisors and founding executive of Viant to advise Predictive Decision Managementâ„¢ company on growth opportunities.
Austin, TX, November 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Atanu Basu, Founder and CEO of DataInfoCom, today announced the appointment of Rick Chavez the to the company’s board of directors.
“We’re thrilled to have Rick join our Board of Directors – his first-hand success in building companies, targeting new markets, and raising capital will be critical to DataInfoCom at this exciting stage for the company,” said Basu. “We’ve proven the business value of our technology at Dell and Microsoft – and now we’re looking to invest in our next stage of growth.”
Mr. Chavez has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and advisor, helping organizations build substantial market and competitive value through commercializing or adopting technology-based methods, products and services. His experience with emerging growth companies fortifies his advisory work with Global 2000 companies, and allows him to advise both – incumbent and emerging leaders – on systematic approaches to maximize value.
“I’ve been evangelizing the power of analytics for almost two decades – so I am energized when I see a company like DataInfoCom that is commercializing real analytic technology that can deliver breakthrough business value,” said Chavez. “As I learned more about DataInfoCom and its technology, it became clear that the company is a leader in helping businesses – across sectors – monetize the value of one of their greatest but mostly underleveraged assets: data. More important, they are able to embed their offering as part of a cloud infrastructure, which allows a much smoother and quicker time-to-value for their customers.”
Prior to TCG, Rick founded his own firm, where he operated as an independent advisor and interim executive. Rick was a founding executive with Viant Corporation, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer and Chairman of the Viant Advisory Board. During his tenure, Viant revenues grew from startup to $120m, employee base grew from 18 to 750, and the company raised ~$200m in capital. Viant developed internet businesses as divisions of Global 2000 enterprises, or as de novo startups backed by venture capital firms. Prior to Viant, Rick launched and led an integrated strategy-technology practice at CSC/Index, and served on the management team, North America, with Cambridge Technology Partners. He lives in San Francisco, California.
