Canada’s DND Exercises Option with Cascade Aerospace for Five Additional Years of C-130 Hercules Management

Abbotsford, Canada, November 25, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC), on behalf of Canada’s Department of National Defence (DND), has exercised an option for an additional five years on a long-term contract with Cascade Aerospace Inc., taking it to 2016, for the continuation of the comprehensive in-service support for Canada’s legacy model CC-130 Hercules fleet. The Optimized Weapons Systems Management (OWSM) contract was originally won by Cascade Aerospace in 2005.

Cascade is the prime OWSM contractor and subcontracts its Herc Solutions partners Marshall Aerospace Canada, Derco Aerospace, and Standard Aero at Cascade’s headquarters in Abbotsford, BC, and in Trenton and Ottawa, ON, Canada.

Cascade’s support services include complete fleet management, engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), aircraft modifications and heavy maintenance. Canada currently owns 32 legacy model C-130 aircraft and is in the process of accepting delivery of 17 new C-130J model Super Hercules aircraft from manufacturer Lockheed Martin.

Cascade Aerospace is a Lockheed Martin-authorized C-130 Service Center (one of only 13 in the world) and has a 20 year contract with Lockheed Martin to assist in providing In Service Support (ISS) services for Canada’s new C-130J fleet.
