Canidae Pet Foods Sponsors Lucas Oil California Classic at Toyota Speedway
The Canidae Natural Pet Food Company California Classic Presented by MasterCraft Safety comes to Toyota Speedway located in Irwindale, near Los Angeles this Thanksgiving weekend November 27th.
Irwindale, CA, November 26, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Canidae is the title sponsor of the Canidae Natural Pet Food Company California Classic Presented By MasterCraft Safety in conjunction with Lucas Oil and Toyota Speedway. Racing will feature the touring pros of the SRL/SPEARS Southwest Tour and the two most popular west coast weekly series, Late Models and Super Late Models, competing in three events, Saturday November 27, 2010 in Irwindale, CA near Los Angeles.
In addition to sponsoring an exciting weekend of short-course racing, Canidae has arranged for Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue of La Habra Heights, CA to be present on practice day, the Friday before the races. Canidae has supported Fast Friends for many years in their ongoing efforts to find placements for greyhounds in need of a permanent home. Fast Friends will be on hand at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale on Friday, November 26 as race fans come to watch teams practice. Several greyhounds in need of a "forever" home will be hand for race fans to meet. Fast Friends is a non-profit organization operated by Joyce and Tom McRorie.
Race fans will also be able to come see the Canidae Jim Dunn NHRA Top Fuel Funny Car close-up and talk with members of the Jim Dunn Racing crew. Jim Dunn Racing is owned and operated by legendary innovator, Jim Dunn. Having competed with drag racing’s elite for 60 years, Dunn is heralded as one of the most respected car owners and tuners in the entire sport. Recently named to NHRA’s Top 50 drivers list, Jim remains a fan favorite to this day.
Racers will be competing for over $50,000 in prize money. Adding to the excitement is the fact that the Lucas Oil Production Studios will produce a one hour show of the races for broadcast which will air on the Versus Network on December 26th at 4:00pm Eastern Time.
In addition to being the title sponsor of the inaugural California Classic, Canidae will provide special "Fast Time" awards for each of the three races, and a generous supply of dog and cat food samples for the race teams and pit areas and to the RV camper area.
General admission tickets to the event are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors, and free for children age 12 and under. Gates will open at 4:00pm on Saturday and racing begins at 7:00pm.
