Corporate Magic Orchestrates Groundbreaking for Bush Library

Corporate Magic's messaging architects orchestrate an elaborate production and complex logistics for the official groundbreaking of the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University.

Dallas, TX, December 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- “Messaging architects” direct elaborate production, complex logistics.

An invitation-only audience of 3,000 friends and supporters gathered Tuesday to celebrate the official groundbreaking of the new George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University. The high-profile event, headlined by former President Bush, went off without a hitch, thanks to the logistical support and multi-media production talents provided by the messaging architects at Corporate Magic.

Dallas-based Corporate Magic (www.corporatemagicinc.com) began planning the intricate details behind this complex event in June, in cooperation with the Office of George W. Bush, the staff of the Presidential Center and the U.S. Secret Service. Every logistical aspect of the day’s proceedings had to be carefully kept in balance – ranging from the layout of the entry and exit points, to the positioning of the tents, and even including accommodations for the expected protestors.

“Any event involving a current or former President of the United States is a monumental undertaking, due to the numerous security issues and the heightened media interest,” said Brian Greenway, director, alliances and business development for Corporate Magic. “Our team did an extraordinary job managing a highly complex set of logistical requirements, all without creating a distraction from the pageantry and excitement of the actual event.”

Corporate Magic’s creative team produced and directed the hour-long show, which included a series of specially produced video clips featuring memorable moments from the Bush presidency and a patriotic video montage accompanied by custom musical scores composed by Stephen Dahlem, Corporate Magic’s senior creative director. Stirring graphics and text messages sent from the audience and viewers watching online and via television were displayed on oversized screens behind and adjacent to the main stage.

The groundbreaking ceremony, which also featured speeches by former First Lady Laura Bush, former Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and other dignitaries, attracted more than 120 members of the domestic and international media.

Two choirs -- the SMU Southern Gentlemen and the Belle Tones – were invited to perform at the event, while the III Corps Fort Hood Audie Murphy Club presented the colors in a respectful military presence.

In addition to its own 25-person production team, Corporate Magic enlisted the expertise of a few trusted vendors, including Argyle, TX-based GoVision LP, one of the nation’s premier suppliers of turnkey mobile LED units and customized modular LED walls. GoVision (www.jumbo.tv) provided the video wall as the backdrop to the speakers’ platform, as well as the two LED boards on either side of the stage. Dallas-based Alford Media and Corporate Meeting Services were brought aboard to supply audio/video gear and staging.

“Once again, our team of inside pros and corporate partners came together to pull off a truly memorable event,” said Jim Kirk, president of Corporate Magic. “Our firm has made its name with these types of one-of-a-kind presentations, but we couldn’t do it without an assist from some of the best specialists in the industry.”

The George W. Bush Presidential Center is scheduled to open in 2013. The 225,000-square-foot facility will include a museum, a library and a policy institute. It is expected to attract 250,000 visitors annually.
