Collectormania, London England with David Prowse (Stars Wars), Susan Backlinie (Jaws) & Miriam Margoyles (Harry Potter) & Helen Darras (Hollywood Treasure, SyFy)
It was a London "dream come true" for fans of Hollywood at the Collectormania, London show at Olympia 2 last weekend, Nov. 27-28. The Hollywood Stars, the UK Sportsmen, the hundreds of collectible dealer tables all made Christmas Shopping a breeze for those who attended.
Hollywood, CA, December 01, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The crowds were non-stop at the Collectormania, London Show at Olympia 2 in London, England. All types of folks, fans and their families, delighted in all the excitement that the show had to offer.
Appearing on behalf of the many charities he sponsors, Mr. David Prowse (best known as Darth Vader from the movie "Star Wars") was on hand to great all who were delighted to see him. His main charities include: The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign, The Urology Foundation of London & the National Charity PHAB, Croydon. If young children were initially frightened by him and his Darth Vader photos, he would lean in & speak softly to them and win their hearts always leaving all fans with a handshake or hug of friendship. Mr. Prowse represents a true iconic actor and hero to all fans.
Other famous celebrities included Susan Backlinie, best known for her role at the beginning of the Universal Studios movie "Jaws." She has a wonderful, comedic sense of humor: "Who is the only girl on the beach with dandruff? Me, because all that's left of me are my head & shoulders." Another great quote of Susan's, "The young man who chased after me in the movie wasn't very fast on his feet. Had he been, we would have spent more time frolicking on the beach and I never would have gone swimming...I might still be alive today." Susan is a delight.
Also an honored guest was Miriam Margoyles. While she is best known for her role in all the "Harry Potter" movies, it was her performance with Daniel Day-Lewis, Winona Rider & Michelle Pfeiffer in the movie "The Age Of The Innocence," directed by Martin Scorsese that can be considered a crown jewel in her acting career. Any one who can steal the scene's attention away from an actor as talented as Daniel Day-Lewis is a rarity. Miriam Margoyles is one of a kind, in that respect.
Helen Darras spent time autographing her biography about a former TV actor from the show "The Munsters," but was also busy promoting the Universal Studios SyFy Show she has recently appeared on called "Hollywood Treasure." She approached Mr. Prowse, Ms. Backlinie & Ms. Margoyles, as well as others about possible consignment of props they may have from their iconic movies, which could be used for the show "Hollywood Treasure." They were all very receptive and had items they would like to discuss with SyFy Channel's executive producers for consignment. The most unusual item was from actor Bill Bryan from the movie "Ghostbusters." Bill designed and wore the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man costume in the movie. He has a marshmallow hand he thought "Hollywood Treasure" might be interested in. So the reality is, the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, evidently, "did not Stay Puft, indefinitely."
The show was a tremendous success and all are looking forward to attending the London Comic Con in July 2011 at Earles Court 2, London, England next summer.
