Triangle Segway Announces 2nd Annual Oakwood Holiday Glide
The holiday-themed 2.5-hour Segway tour explores Raleigh's Historic Oakwood District on Segways and includes a walk inside many of the neighborhood's restored 19th-century homes. This special Segway event is offered Saturday, December 11 at two tour times.
Raleigh, NC, December 02, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Triangle Segway will offer its 2nd annual Oakwood Holiday Glide on Saturday, December 11 at two tour times. This special 2.5-hour event, which is a combined Segway glide and holiday home tour, is a fun way to explore the highlights of Oakwood, a lovely 19th-century Raleigh neighborhood, and also see the interiors of many restored period homes that will be decked out for Christmas in fine Victorian style.
On the Oakwood Holiday Glide, guests will glide house to house on Segways and will also hear interesting facts and stories about Raleigh by a knowledgeable Triangle Segway tour guide.
“No matter how many times you may have walked or driven through Oakwood, you’ll be seeing it in a whole new way as you glide it on a Segway,” says Todd Masinter, owner of Triangle Segway.
“The tour will highlight the history and architecture of Historic Oakwood,” says Masinter. “Our guests will have wireless audio packs that make it easy to hear their guide's live narration all along the way.”
The selection of homes that will be toured on the Segway route are among those featured in the neighborhood's Candlelight Tour. The homes are widely scattered throughout the historic district.
No Segway riding experience is necessary to join the tour. Triangle Segway provides training. Segways balance themselves and are easy to learn how to ride. Participants must be at least 14 years old and weigh between 100 and 260 pounds.
Oakwood Holiday Glide tickets are $75 per person and include an official Candlelight Tour ticket, which can be used separately to view additional homes on Sunday too.
Call Triangle Segway at 919-828-1988 to reserve a spot on the tour; advance purchase is required. Spaces are limited. For more information, visit www.TriangleSegway.com. Segway tour gift cards are also available for this or any Triangle Segway tour. Segway tours make unique gifts and wonderful stocking stuffers for the holidays.
