Flexible Vehicle Security System Helps Perth and Kinross Council Improve Health and Safety
Perth and Kinross Council has installed Vision Techniques’ systems into its vehicles.
Blackburn, United Kingdom, December 04, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Scotland-based Perth and Kinross Council has dramatically improved its vehicle security and safety by opting to install an incredible ‘vehicle management system’ into some of its fleet.
Operations Managers at the council saw the benefits of the multi-functional ‘Zone Safe II’ after installing a demo version into one of their vehicles.
Having experienced a number of Vision Techniques’ products in the past, they have opted to install the system for health and safety reasons.
David Goodenough, Assistant Operations manager at Perth an Kinross Council, said: “After trying out the system for four months, we know Zone Safe II offers numerous benefits.
“It completely eradicates the possibility of drive-away incidents, which, although never a problem previously, is a constant worry. Leaving the vehicle temporarily is no longer an issue.”
The system uses cutting edge, 'RFID technology tags' to help operators manage the vehicles more efficiently - acting as a multi-functional, flexible, vehicle control monitoring and logging tool.
“The initial reason for trying Zone Safe II was, primarily, for health and safety - as well as the fact that Vision Techniques products are noticeably easier to use.
“But we soon discovered there were many other benefits, including savings on fuel consumption.”
ZoneSafe II saves money on fuel, stops wear on vehicle components and reduces Britain’s impact on the environment through constant data analysis.
Dave Tucker, of Vision Techniques, said: “Perth and Kinross Council is very proactive in saving money and adopting a green policy - so Zone Safe II is an ideal system.
“The council recognises the importance of safety and security having installed a number of our products into their vehicles - such as Banksman Radar and lighting boards.”
In addition to ZoneSafe II, Vision Techniques provides a variety of vehicle safety products, including reversing camera systems, mobile CCTV and auto braking systems.
It is a leading supplier of the latest vehicle security and safety equipment for all types of vehicles - including vans, lorries, trucks, forklifts and HGVs - throughout the country.
The company supplies to vehicle manufacturers, vehicle body-builders and to hundreds of local authorities.
