Fort Myers Attorney Luis Rivera Appointed to United States Bankruptcy Trustee Panel

Rivera II, has been appointed by the United States Trustee to the panel of trustees in bankruptcy for the Middle District of Florida (Fort Myers Division). As a member of the panel, Rivera will be one of three court-appointed officials in Southwest Florida who administer bankruptcy cases filed under Chapter 7. Rivera's principal duty as trustee will be to collect and liquidate the non-exempt property of the debtor(s) and to distribute the proceeds to creditors.

Rivera is an attorney in Henderson Franklin’s Commercial Litigation division. He focuses his practice in creditors' rights and insolvency counseling in bankruptcy, including representation of secured creditors in both consumer and reorganization cases. Rivera also handles other creditors' rights cases, real property litigation, including mortgage foreclosure, landlord/tenant disputes, and title insurance litigation. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized by Florida Super Lawyers® magazine as a "Rising Star" in the field of business litigation.
