NAHREP Orange County Hosts Annual Holiday Luncheon; Donates 300+ Unwrapped Toys to Local Children's Agencies

Orange, CA, December 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Orange County Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP), a nonprofit trade organization dedicated to increasing the homeownership rate among Latinos, presented over 300 unwrapped toys yesterday to two local agencies, including the Orangewood Children’s and Family Center. Orangewood is a 24-hour emergency shelter care facility, operated and owned by the County of Orange Social Services Agency for children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. Nearly 60% of children admitted to the Center are Hispanic and range in age from infant to 17 years.

The annual luncheon event, Fiesta Navidad, is a NAHREP Orange County tradition and was attended by over 250 Realtors® and real estate industry professionals. A Community Programs Specialist with Orangewood Children’s and Family Center was there to accept the toys on Orangewood’s behalf and stressed the importance of community support and partnerships in providing children of Orange County with the highest quality of care and assistance.

“We are very grateful for this opportunity to give back in this way,” said Event Chairman Dan Perez, who serves NAHREP OC as its Director of Membership.

John Macias, President of the NAHREP Orange County Chapter and a National Board Member of NAHREP, commended NAHREP OC members and guests of the event for their generosity and dedication to bettering the lives of those Orange County residents who are less fortunate. “Our NAHREP Chapter is one incredibly family-oriented group of successful real estate practitioners,” Macias said. “We look forward, as NAHREP Orange County Members, to continuing to give back in great ways to our community in 2011 and beyond.”
