Stairways Behavioral Health Announces State-Wide Educator Award Recipient, Bootsie Barbour
Stairways Behavioral Health announces Bootsie Barbour is the recipient of the 2010 PAACE Outstanding Adult Educator award at the 45th Annual PAACE Conference on Adult Education.
Erie, PA, December 05, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Stairways Behavioral Health is pleased to announce that Bootsie Barbour was awarded the 2010 PAACE Outstanding Adult Educator at the 45th Annual PAACE Conference on Adult Education, the largest gathering of adult educators in Pennsylvania. Barbour was selected by past award winners for her outstanding contribution to the development of adult education across the commonwealth.
Barbour received special recognition for her role in the establishment of the Pennsylvania Professional Development Centers (PDC), development of the Teacher Competencies, assistance with multiple state initiatives, and development of services within the Northwest PDC that were emulated by other regions.
In addition to her role as Director of Education and Training for Stairways Behavioral Health, Bootsie has been asked by the Bureau of Adult Basic Education to serve as the professional development technical assistant and will be working with all six of the Professional Development Centers in the Commonwealth during the 2010-2011 program year.
PAACE (Pennsylvania Association for Adult Continuing Education) is the only statewide professional organization which serves as an advocate for adult and continuing education. Created in 1978, PAACE now serves nearly 1,000 members, including Stairways Behavioral Health Education Center.
