Simple Engine Media Launches a Unique Real Estate Business

When people think of Kelowna’s Real Estate, Internet Technology probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, but one group is doing their part to make Kelowna the center for Real Estate technology development.

Kelowna business, Simple Engine Media, is set to change how Real Estate is done online. By creating Real Estate technologies such as Street Text and OpenHouse Cities, such as www.openhousekelowna.com, which now include 20 cities in Western Canada, it is opening up unique ways for Realtors to market properties in an increasingly competitive market.

Simple Engine Media’s newest project, Street Text (www.streettext.com), is a texting application that enables home-buyers to text the For Sale sign and receive instant, up to date, information about the property. The demands of the home-buyer is increasing, and Simple Engine Media’s objective is to listen to those buyers. Art Bosma, co-founder of Simple Engine Media, explains, “We provide the tools for Realtors to meet the demands of the buyers.”

Two of the three founders are no strangers to world of Real Estate, Stephen Whiting and Art Bosma both have extensive Real Estate experience. “Real Estate is changing, there is going to be more information provided quicker and without anything held back. Past online services have typically controlled the information given to consumers, consumers are looking for a more open system,” says Stephen.

With a changing economy, the timing of Street Text in the market is very important. Selling a home is becoming increasingly competitive, a home seller needs their Realtor to track every possible buyer, whether they are driving by, walking by, or surfing the Internet. And give the buyer the most up to date information on the home. A Realtor can do that now with the OpenHouse network of cities and StreetText. “We created Street Text so we could provide instant information to people who are passing by,” says Stephen.

Along with Street Text and their network of OpenHouse domains, Simple Engine Media has a few other Real Estate projects in development. BonEstate is a website builder and content management system for Realtors, that is on schedule to launch in the fall, as well as SocialPilot, an online education service for Realtors looking to use Social Media as a marketing tool. “We have a big vision, and believe that Kelowna is the perfect city to build it from, we want to build marketing platforms for Realtors that help the home seller and are open and simple for the home buyer,” says Jonathan Whiting, the third founder, “Our dream? It’s to create the tools that they didn’t know were possible.”
