West Coast Emergency Preparedness Center Opens Its Doors

Los Angeles, CA, December 06, 2010 --(PR.com)-- A new rescue training facility in the heart of the San Fernando Valley has begun an aggressive marketing and public relations campaign to announce the arrival of what is being called the most versatile center offering a vast array of classes to prehospital care providers and citizens. The goal of the center is to host the largest assortment of classes making it a one-stop facility for such services.

The west coast is under the constant threat of a major disaster occurring such as an earthquake which is prompting calls from local and state officials to prepare for the worst. In past years, surveys have revealed that most citizens are not prepared for a disaster which could mean the difference between life or death for many. For example, it is estimated that after a major earthquake strikes the southern California region, death and injuries will be widespread. It is also projected that emergency services will not respond within 48 to 72 hours or longer.

West Coast Emergency Preparedness Center is a facility that offers training to those working in the prehospital care field and citizens in such areas as CPR, First Aid and Disaster Preparedness to name a few. Some of the more advanced classes are Hazardous Materials Operations/Awareness, Incident Command System and START Triage.

The facility will be one of the few on the west coast that offers specialized classes for the deaf and hard of hearing community. With the use of qualified interpreters, deaf and hard of hearing students can particpate in CPR and First Aid classes which will allow them to respond to emergencies rather than feeling they can't contribute in any way.

West Coast Emergency Preparedness Center will be offering EMT, Wilderness EMT, Emergency Medical Responder and Los Angeles County 4 hour CE Skills in the summer of 2011.
