Three Ships Media Names Brian Baker Vice President of Sales

Former Plus One Partners Managing Partner Joins Digital Marketing Agency.

Raleigh, NC, December 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Three Ships Media, a digital marketing agency, has announced that Brian Baker is joining the company as Vice President of Sales. Baker will directly lead inbound and outbound sales units and contribute to the strategic direction of Three Ships Media.

“In its inaugural year, Three Ships Media has attracted a world class leadership team. We’ve poached top talent from New York, Boston, and Washington, D.C., but as a Raleigh native, I’m particularly excited to welcome Brian Baker, a local business and civic leader, to the team,” said Three Ships Media CEO Zach Clayton. “Customer decision-making starts (and often ends) online today, but most companies are substantially under-investing in inbound marketing. Brian Baker understands customer acquisition and he understands how big an opportunity this is for marketers.”

Previously Baker served as Managing Partner of Plus One Partners, an advisory firm which provided strategic, structural and management support to growth companies, including Three Ships Media. Plus One Partners specialized in sales and marketing engagements, and Baker assisted clients in the staffing industry as well as technology, professional, and marketing services. Prior to founding Plus One Partners, Baker served as the Vice President of Sales at Hosted Solutions, a managed hosting provider based in Raleigh.

“Brian has a consistent track record of adding extreme value to the organizations he’s worked with. During the time Brian served as Vice President of Sales at Hosted Solutions, revenue grew over 5x – creating one of the great entrepreneurial successes in the Research Triangle Park area and a 9-figure exit,” Three Ships Media President Drew Van Pelt added. “We’re thrilled that Brian is bringing his focus to Three Ships, where he'll help craft ROI maximizing programs for our customers.”

“Digital marketing playtime is over. Online marketing is an essential part of every company’s customer acquisition strategy,” Baker said. “In Three Ships Media, I found a group with the business know-how, analytical rigor and marketing experience to help leading organizations accelerate their revenue growth.”

Clayton founded Three Ships Media 14 months ago after graduating from Harvard Business School. Since then, the firm has grown to more than 20 employees and added more than 60 clients. In addition to providing marketing services, the company has built proprietary technology which helps companies measure and assess the value of their online presence.
