Mentoring Program Teaches Teens Success Skills
Raleigh, NC, December 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Mentoring For Success LLC is a unique enrichment program for teens. It is designed to teach teens the strategies and skills necessary for success in school and beyond. A wealth of emerging research reveals that a young person’s character and personal skills are more critical to future success and happiness, than their IQ and academic performance.
The Mentoring For Success program is driven by the fact that an individual will be more successful in life if their focus is on developing personal qualities and skills that include personal responsibility, self-control, motivation, confidence, enthusiasm, determination and integrity. Learning these and other skills are the foundation for a life of achievement and satisfaction.
The founder, Dr. Harley Burke, has drawn from his experiences as a clinical psychologist and college professor, where he taught courses in Success Strategies and Positive Psychology. With this background, he created a program consisting of 10 social and emotional skills workshops, specifically designed for teens.
A teen can benefit enormously by understanding and learning the common basic skills that underlie success in school, career, and in life. It would help them cope better with the adolescent period, and equip them to manage their future lives in a more effective, positive, and meaningful way.
These success workshops which are personally conducted by Dr. Burke are available to teens either on a private group basis or when the program has been integrated into a school’s curriculum. The learning environment of the workshops is casual, relaxed and non-judgmental. The teen is inspired to think about the type of person they want to become and learn the skills and strategies necessary for finding success and happiness in life.
