FISC Solutions’ SVP Elected State Director
Lewiston, ME, December 09, 2010 --(PR.com)-- FISC Solutions’ Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Kristine Avery, was recently elected Director of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) Maine State Council.
The SHRM Maine State Council is committed to serving the HR Professional and advancing the HR Profession. The State Council is part of the national SHRM network of over 250,000 members. As an influential voice, SHRM is an essential and effective strategic partner in developing and executing Human Resources within an organizational strategy.
As the State Council Director, Kris’ responsibilities will include providing a structure for members to meet and discuss the affairs, activities, needs and challenges of the HR profession. She will coordinate state and national legislative initiatives and will be responsible for providing leadership development opportunities and communication to SHRM Chapter volunteer leaders and SHRM at-large members within the State of Maine. Kris will also be the state representative on the SHRM Northeast Regional Council. The regional council provides opportunities for Human Resources best-practice sharing among and between the SHRM council members in the northeast region.
Avery will begin her term as Director January 1, 2011. She currently serves as President of the Southern Maine chapter of the Human Resources Association where she has been a board member since 2006. Avery maintains her HR SPHR professional certification and is the instructor for the HR Certification Exam Preparatory Course offered through the University of Southern Maine. Kris was honored as the recipient of the Maine 2010 HR Leader of the Year. Kris resides in Windham with her husband, Dan.
