FutureSelf Names New Executive Director
After an extensive and thorough search process FutureSelf has named Abby Laine Sienkiewicz its new executive director. As the executive director Sienkiewicz is responsible for the operational and strategic efforts of FutureSelf and reports to its Board of Directors.
Colorado Springs, CO, December 13, 2010 --(PR.com)-- “As a local nonprofit serving the youth of Colorado Springs and El Paso County, FutureSelf required a combination of vision, creativity and compassion in its leader,” said Kellie Whitney, the organization’s Board Chair. “Abby has this combination in addition to abundant enthusiasm. Her experience and commitment to youth will be valued assets in our effort to inspire positive youth self-transformation through the arts,” Whitney added.
“I have always been passionate about working with youth and empowering them to make positive decisions,” said Abby Laine Sienkiewicz. “I am excited to work with the FutureSelf participants and continue inspiring young artists,” stated Ms. Sienkiewicz.
“I was unsure when I moved here how long I would stay in Colorado Springs, but after completing my fellowship with the Girl Scouts I knew I wanted to be a part of this community,” said Sienkiewicz. In early 2007, she accepted a position with La Foret Conference and Retreat Center. Her role included direction of summer art camps, communications, special programs and events, and development initiatives. She was instrumental in the implementation of the MeadowGrass Music Festival.
Sienkiewicz holds a Bachelor of Science from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo MI, with a major in Family Studies and a minor in Holistic Health Care.
