"The Rogers Family Xmas - When Xmas Goes Bad" - a 4Knights Film Release

Auckland, New Zealand, December 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Feature Film Production Company Four Knights, who brought indie feature film, "I'm Not Harry Jenson" to cinema screens earlier this year have released an online xmas series just in time for the holiday season.

"The Rogers Family Xmas" pushes the boundaries of what is on sites like YouTube. Along with other new media companies like Will Ferrell's and Judd Apatow's Funny or Die site, 4Knights Film is looking to change the landscape of content production.

"You are seeing a huge movement towards online media production at the moment, it's become possible to shoot quality media cheaply and get it out to your fans in record time," says 4Knights producer Tom Hern.

"With today's viewers demanding ever quicker release windows for their favorite shows, places like YouTube offer an ever growing platform for would be producers," Hern says.

“We are and have always been focused on developing and producing 'cinema,' but are also mindful of the constant evolution of the distribution models,” says Hern.

“Four Knights Film got in behind Joel Herbet and his festive New Zealand freak-show,” says Hern.

The goal for "The Rogers Family Xmas" - 1 million YouTube hits across 11 Christmas comedy sketches; and a better understanding of the illusive direct-distribution system.

Herbert’s sketches take place in and around a classic kiwi family bach at Christmas time. “The family are complete nutcases,” Herbert explains. “The comedy is shocking, ridiculous and ‘Christmassy.'”

Ex-Shortland St and The Biggest Loser star Karl Burnett makes an appearance as "Uncle Levi." Adam Gardiner (Eagle vs Shark, Lovebirds), Rachael Blampied (I’m Not Harry Jenson, Go Girls), Hera Dunleavy, Simon Ward and veteran Mick Innes (Jacquie Brown Diaries, The Insatiable Moon) round out the cast.

“We are determined to get a finger into the YouTube pie. Cinema is our number one priority but with the entertainment game changing so quickly and so many rules being thrown out the window, I think we could end up seeing the funny live and the rest die. We don’t want to miss that revolution,” says Hern.

"The movement to new media has caught many traditional studios off guard, many are now rapidly organizing themselves an online presence. As the traditional viewers abandon set time programming for new media platforms the revenue they produce travels with them," says Hern.
