Pagoda Hotel Embarks on New Beginning as Part of Aqua Hotels & Resorts’ Portfolio

Honolulu, HI, December 14, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Pagoda Hotel, Honolulu’s landmark hotel with its one-of-a-kind design and unique appeal, is gearing up for a great 2011 as part of Aqua Hotels & Resorts’ Oahu portfolio of properties.

Effective December 20, 2010, new ownership and management of the 359-room hotel takes effect. Kai Management Services, LLC will operate the property and receive a range of support services from Aqua Hotels & Resorts.

According to new owner Peter Savio, at least $2 million will be spent on planned upgrades to the restaurant space, with another $4 million dedicated for future hotel refurbishment.

“Pagoda Hotel has been a part of the island lifestyle for decades,” said Bill Henderson, Aqua’s VP Development. “Many kamaaina families, including mine, have at one time or another enjoyed dining at the floating restaurant, been to a wedding reception or graduation in the ballroom or booked a few nights at the hotel for visiting relatives. It’s always been a place where friends and family felt at home and, with the support of their long-time employees, we are looking forward to bringing back that level of easy comfort and hospitality.”

Aqua’s sales and marketing team has been planning for their ‘new’ full-service property located in the heart of Honolulu. “The team has come up with suggestions for specials and promotions that will be appealing to a variety of market segments including kamaaina and groups,” remarked Elizabeth Churchill, Aqua’s VP Sales & Marketing. “Pagoda Hotel has plenty to offer consumers and we’re excited to be marketing this unique and iconic property.”
