DirectRooms.com – The Philippines’ Foremost Sailing Event Heads to Boracay in February 2011
DirectRooms.com divulges that sailing enthusiasts can catch a special few days of racing as Boracay plays host to one of the country’s main sailing competitions.
Boracay, Philippines, December 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Taking place over five days from 8th to 12th February 2011, the 18th President’s Cup Sailing Regatta will feature a collection of the best racing crews and boats from around the country.
Domestic and international crew members will be setting sail around the calm blue waters of the island of Boracay in the Philippines to see just who is the fastest and most technically able, as the crews navigate the complex courses.
Being organised by the Manila Yacht Club the event is seen as the key date in the sailing calendar for teams from the Philippines. Boracay is also viewed as the ideal location for the regatta due to its strong wind conditions and pleasant waters making for an exciting few days of sailing.
Sailing fans residing in a Boracay hotel can catch all of the action from the Boracay beach or alternatively take to one of the spectator boats which will be following the competitors on the waters.
The regatta is part of an extensive few days of boating activities with the event following on from the Manila Boracay Race which sees contestants racing from the Bay in Manila over to the island.
Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms.com commented: “Boracay is going to be filling up with sailing fans who will be looking to see both events. Hotels are going to be in short supply so booking early is recommended over the dates of the regatta and the race.”
