White Digital Media Spreading Holiday Cheer by Donating to ‘Toys for Tots’ Foundation
San Diego, CA, December 15, 2010 --(PR.com)-- White Digital Media, the leading digital business media source for C-level executives worldwide, is donating multiple toys, games and educational books to the Marine ‘Toys for Tots’ Foundation to help spread holiday cheer to the children of San Diego County.
Toys for Tots began in 1947, when Major Bill Hendricks, USCR and a group of Marine Reservists in Los Angeles collected and distributed 5,000 toys to needy children. The 1947 project was so successful that the Marine Corps adopted Toys for Tots in 1948 and expanded it into a nationwide campaign.
Marines have conducted successful nationwide campaigns at Christmas each year since 1948. The initial objective that remains the hallmark of the program today is to “bring the joy of Christmas to America’s needy children.”
White Digital Media has donated to Toys for Tots since 2008, when the company moved its headquarters from Norwich, UK to San Diego, CA. Over the past two years, they have contributed over 200 toys to the organization and expect an even larger donation turn-out this year, as the company has nearly doubled since it launched in 2007.
“People typically donate more than one toy; one year an employee gave two bicycles,” said Amanda Wynn, White Digital Media’s San Diego Office Manager. “Toys for Tots is a great organization and we love giving back to our local community; no child should wake up Christmas morning without getting a few presents!”
