Phil Newman Joins Balfour Beatty Construction as Top Executive for Safety and Sustainability
Dallas, TX, December 17, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Balfour Beatty Construction is pleased to announce that it has appointed Phil Newman as its new vice president of group safety, health, and environmental. In this role, Newman will help Balfour Beatty achieve its vision for “Zero Harm by 2012,” taking the company’s already effective safety and sustainability practices to a higher level.
Newman will lead the company’s loss prevention team and operational leaders to deploy robust programs that engage employees, rally support from subcontractor partners, and hold management accountable for meeting safety and sustainability goals.

A certified industrial hygienist, Newman holds a B.S. in occupational safety and an M.S. in environmental health and safety from California State University, Northridge. He is also a past president of the California chapter of the American Industrial Hygiene Association.
