Vivo Resorts Discloses Survey Results Regarding the Top Issues on the Minds of Canadians and Americans Considering a Mexico Real Estate Investment
Puerto Escondido, Mexico, December 20, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Cary Mullen, two-time Olympian and World Cup Champion skier, now the noted vacation resort developer of Vivo Resorts, recently surveyed 171 prospective Canadian and American real estate investors about the major questions they have when considering a Mexico real estate investment. The survey was conducted in the city of Puerto Escondido, Mexico during the third quarter of 2010. It revealed the following as the most frequently asked questions this group had about a Mexico real estate purchase:
1. How does this real estate compare to other Mexico real-estate and why? The survey revealed that these investors like to compare prices between other cities, and even other countries, to ensure that they are getting the best value.
2. Are there many other Americans/Canadians investing in the area?
The survey revealed that prospective American and Canadian investors place a high value on an established presence of other Americans and Canadians in a location.
3. Will the real estate appreciate in value?
The survey revealed that Mexico real-estate investors want confirmation from their agent or broker that they are in fact purchasing real estate that will appreciate in value.
4. Is this area safe?
The survey revealed that due to the bad press Mexico has received previously, real-estate investors are concerned about safety. However, frequent visitors to Mexico understand that it is not the despondent, crime-ridden land as it has been depicted in the press. The widely reported drug violence is concentrated in a few cities far from Mexico's beachfront vacation areas.
5. Can we rent our place?
The survey revealed that many investors hope to bring extra cash flow into their real-estate investment by renting out their home. This is an important question because many developments do not allow for external rentals.
“As a Mexico real-estate developer, it is important for me to know what Mexico real estate investors are asking so that I can develop and offer properties that are responsive to the needs of the market,” says Cary Mullen, chief executive officer of Vivo Resorts. “I am in the business of serving people and the point of this survey was to learn how to better serve my clients.”
