Evon Smith is an educator with the Los Angeles Unified School District. She is currently the site Administrator of Doyle Career and Transition Center. As a district–level administrator, she previously served as the coordinator of the district’s Subject Matter Preparation Program, which provides training for hundreds of beginning teachers in effective pedagogy and core subject matter topics. Evon’s responsibilities included curriculum development and the coordination of the training of beginning teachers who instruct in the district’s shortage areas of math, science, and special education. A graduate of the University of California, Irvine, and Cal State University, Northridge, Evon has realized her dream of writing her first novel, Book of Redemption.
