Land O'Lakes' WinField Solutions Leases 411,000 SF in Iowa
Des Moines, IA, December 22, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Leading crop science and agricultural products company, WinField Solutions, announced this week that it has leased a 411,000 SF distribution center in Story City, IA for a consolidated stocking warehouse, service center and Answer Plot®. WinField is the largest distributor of crop protection products in the country, and is one of the largest divisions of $12 billion food and agriculture giant, Land O’Lakes, Inc. The company plans on taking occupancy immediately. Pella Corporation formerly manufactured products in the facility.

This particular site selection requirement included consideration of multiple states and markets before closing in on Central Iowa. The transaction marks one of the largest leases for the region in 2010.

“They have experienced significant growth in recent years and the heartland region is one of their core markets,” says Jeb Atkinson with the Logistics Practice Group of corporate real estate advisory firm ProVenture, who, with colleague Randy Wolcott, handled the site selection, location analysis, and lease negotiation on behalf of WinField and Land O’Lakes. Gerry Norton with Binswanger negotiated the deal on behalf of Pella Corporation.
