Cheyenne Studios Finds New Life as Fantastic Lane

A new image, new management and a new approach to business have brought new life into the old Cheyenne Studios. Now officially operating as Fantastic Lane, the property is undergoing a series of renovations and updates that are turning this lot into one of the most competitive motion picture studios in the greater Los Angeles area.

Castaic, CA, December 28, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Sometimes referred to as Castaic Studios, due to it’s location in Castaic, Cheyenne Studios has often been regarded as a leader among independent filmmakers and music video producers. The studio is now experiencing new life after being reborn as Fantastic Lane. The transition is backed by a new management team that is taking the studio in bold new directions.

Cheyenne Studios has always been a visionary studio, from the moment it was first constructed. The studio came to life when developers purchased a large area of warehouses and shipping offices, and redeveloped the property into a complete motion picture studio. The lot features six sound stages, including both green and white cycloramas, private screening theaters and a full post-production suite.

The studio was an instant hit with independent filmmakers and music video production companies. A number of noteworthy people have found their way onto the studio’s lot, including Sean Penn (Into the Wild) and Chris Moore (American Pie, Goodwill Hunting). Unfortunately, when the economy went down, filmmakers suffered, creating less business for production studios like Cheyenne. The result was that business on the lot slowed to a crawl, until new management brought some innovative ideas to the lot.

New management has stepped in to take the studio in a new direction. The first order of business has been to give the studio a new identity. The lot has been officially renamed Fantastic Lane, due to the studio’s location on a private drive by the same name. The new name is accompanied by a number of changes that have brought the studio a lot of attention in a short period of time.

One of the initial moves made by the new team has been to reach out to television productions, which have the advantage of being frequent, recurring customers of the studio’s sound stages. Fantastic Lane is currently set to be the home of four weekly television programs beginning in early 2011, with two additional television shows expected to begin later in the year.

All of the money made by the new studio so far has been put right back into the property. Plans are in place to give a new roof to the entire complex, as well as to update the HVAC systems to newer, more energy efficient models. Two of the sound stages are scheduled to receive a complete electrical upgrade from the ground up, and all production offices are receiving a face lift to give them a more modern appearance.

With all of these changes taking place, Fantastic Lane has enjoyed a buzz among Los Angeles area filmmakers, and a number of productions have already made bookings with Fantastic Lane. The studio is also happy to give a tour of the lot to anyone interested in seeing what Fantastic Lane has to offer.
