2,011 people will promote world peace by reading the Prayer of Peace, available in 13 languages and written by Ilchi Lee, on New Year’s Day.
Sedona, AZ, December 30, 2010 --(PR.com)-- For those who would like to start the New Year doing something to show love for the earth and solidarity with other humans, Ilchi lee is hosting a reading of a Prayer of Peace on January 1, 2011. The site will post the pledges of 2011 people who offer the Prayer of Peace written by Ilchi Lee on the New Year.
“I composed the Prayer of Peace because I believe we can only achieve peace in ourselves and in the world by awakening to the fact that we are all one–one part of the same life force that lies beneath the illusion of our differences,” said Ilchi Lee.
Those interested can become one of the 2,011 people by visiting http://ilchi.com/pop and signing the pledge for peace. There they can download printable pdfs of the Prayer of Peace in several languages. Each participant can print out their favorite version of the prayer, and read it in a way that's meaningful to them. It can be read silently, together with friends, or for use in meditation in nature. Some may even sing it to the tune of their favorite song.
“I’d like to invite you to acknowledge this truth and pray for true peace together on January 1, 2011. As you pray, imagine the kind of world you want to live in and the kind of person you need to be to create it,” said Ilchi Lee.
Iclhi.com asks participants to share their experience by sending an email to community(at)ilchi(dot)com by January 5th. Submissions may include a photo or video. The most creative and interesting submissions will be posted later on ilchi.com. Ilchi.com invites everyone to join in making the New Year one of hope asks that everyone share this message of peace with their family and friends.
Ilchi Lee originally wrote and read the Prayer of Peace at the United Nations Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders on August 28, 2000. Now, more than ten years later, Ilchi Lee will use this prayer as a centerpiece in re-affirming our commitment to peace and to the earth. One part of the prayer asks: "Help us all go beyond our small limits and realize that we are one, that we are all from the earth."
