Suspected Burglar, Car Thief Caught by Sonitrol Pacific Detection
Portland, OR, December 31, 2010 --(PR.com)-- Police arrested a man suspected of attempting to burglarize a Portland store and possessing a stolen car after Sonitrol Pacific detected the break-in December 26.
Operator Joe Orsborn received an impact-activated audio security alert from The Mac Pac on Whitaker Way just before 6:00 a.m. He heard rattling noises and other suspicious sounds and called Portland Police.
Police responded quickly to Sonitrol Pacific’s verified alarm and caught one man in the act of breaking into the store. The suspect drilled out the lock on the front door to get inside. According to police, the man had driven a stolen car to the store.
The store’s manager is hopeful this is the same person who drilled into their roll up door a few weeks earlier in a first attempt to get inside the store.
