Amberg, WI, January 01, 2011 --(PR.com)-- There are a myriad of organizations that provide assistance, care and research for families of the victims of birth defects. More is being done every day. It isn’t always known why a child is born with a particular defect, or challenge. Call it a challenge as defect makes them seem available for recall. They are perfect human beings with an extra challenge that not all are born with. However, it always calls for special care to fill the needs of the family and the challenged infant.
In tough economic times donations to these organizations, such as St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, are down. Word Crafter Communication’s mystery author Billie A. Williams, has a two pronged approach for helping more people meet this giving challenge. Birthdays, anniversaries, congratulations, thank you – are only a few of the occasions that provide opportunities to buy gifts for friends, family or loved ones. Why not use that opportunity to do two things? Buy one of the books, "Death by Candlelight" or "Candlelight and Shadows," in January and one quarter of Williams’ royalties for the sales of those two books will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital to help children with birth defects/challenges.
“Each of my mystery novels has a thread running through it suggesting a charity, organization or cause that needs donations to help them. For instance, 'Watch For the Raven,' a young adult historical adventure novel, targets the local 4-H club with its donations because they help both boys and girls develop life skills and values.
"'Death by Candlelight' and 'Candlelight and Shadows,' normally help the Rainbow House domestic abuse shelter, but the books also have a newborn with a severe heart condition – a defect, a challenge for the newly widowed young mother. Therefore, in January 2011, I will donate 25% of the royalties from the sale of these two books to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.”
Williams also states that the size of a gift doesn’t matter. “Sure large is good, but you can build sky scrapers one brick at a time. So, small donations will add up as well.”
It looks like everyone comes out a winner in this situation. Won’t you help now? With caring folks giving and getting can fill two needs equally as well.
