New York, NY, January 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Fitzpatrick, Cella, Harper & Scinto, one of the nation’s premier intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce that Stephen E. Belisle of the Washington, D.C. office and Christopher P. Borello, Alicia A. Russo, Christopher E. Loh and Robert S. Schwartz, all of the New York office, have been elected partners of the Firm, effective January 1, 2011. All were previously associates of the Firm.

Stephen E. Belisle’s practice focuses on patent and trademark litigation in the U.S. district and appellate courts, Section 337 unfair import investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, patent interferences, opinion work, and client counseling. He also has experience in patent prosecution, particularly in the fields of semiconductor wafer photolithography, recording devices, photocopying, printers, and photography.
Mr. Belisle received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, and both his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with great distinction, from Clarkson University. He was previously a U.S. Army Airborne Ranger with the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Belisle, 40, resides in Burke, Virginia.
Christopher P. Borello practices complex patent litigation in a wide variety of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, mechanical devices, and computer technology. He has represented both plaintiffs and defendants, and has experience litigating cases that arise under the Hatch-Waxman Act.
Mr. Borello received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Pace University in 2002, his M.E. in Environmental Engineering from Manhattan College in 1998 and his B.E. in Civil Engineering from Cooper Union in 1995. Mr. Borello, 37, resides in Hawthorne, NY.
Alicia A. Russo has experience in complex patent litigation involving patents in a variety of fields, including pharmaceuticals, mechanical devices and building materials. Ms. Russo also has experience in patent prosecution in the fields of gas processing, building materials, fabrics, biotechnology, bioinformatics, structural biology and pharmaceuticals. In addition, she has experience in the licensing of intellectual property as well as in freedom-to-operate opinions.
Ms. Russo received her J.D. from Fordham University in 2000, her M.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Hood College in 1989 and a B.S. in Biology and Chemistry from Mount St. Mary's University in 1986. She has written for numerous publications in the fields of both law and science, with a particular focus on structural biology. Ms. Russo, 46, resides in New York City.
Christopher E. Loh practices general intellectual property law with an emphasis on biotechnology and Hatch-Waxman pharmaceutical patent litigation. Mr. Loh has litigated patent cases involving pharmaceutical and medical equipment technologies such as anticonvulsants, antisense probes, cholesterol-lowering statins, calcium-channel blockers and vascular stents. He also has significant experience in licensing, noninfringement and freedom-to-operate opinions, and advising clients on complex intellectual property transactions.
Mr. Loh received his J.D., Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, from Columbia University in 1998, and his B.S. in Molecular Biochemistry & Biophysics, Economics (Double Major) from Yale University in 1995. He has written for numerous publications, and has twice won the Burton Award for Legal Achievement which acknowledges exceptional examples of legal writing. Mr. Loh, 37, resides in New York City.
Robert S. Schwartz, Ph.D., focuses his practice on biotechnology and pharmaceutical patent litigation, technical advising, and patentability and noninfringement opinions. Dr. Schwartz’s primary focus is in the areas of biotechnology, particularly protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, vitamin and nutritional supplements and the chemical arts. Some of the technologies he has worked with include enzyme inhibitors, cell growth factors, receptors, adjuvants and vaccines.
Dr. Schwartz received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Pace Law School in 2003, his Ph.D. in Biochemistry, summa cum laude, from the University of California at Berkeley and his B.S. in Biology, magna cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany. Dr. Schwartz resides in Briarcliff Manor, NY.
