Texas Solar Power Company Selects PanelClaw for Austin’s Largest Solar Installation

Austin, TX, January 07, 2011 --(PR.com)-- PanelClaw, a leader in solar mounting systems and Texas Solar Power Company (TXSPC), a leading solar integrator, have partnered to deliver solar power to the Austin Community College (ACC) Northridge Campus. The 245kW ACC Energy Project is now the largest solar system in Austin.
The ACC Energy Project is a key component of Austin Community College’s overall sustainability initiative and will provide energy equivalent to powering nearly 30 homes, saving the school over $26,500 each year. “The ACC Energy Project continues our commitment to a sustainable future,” ACC President and CEO Dr. Stephen B. Kinslow said. “We are reducing our dependence on non-renewable sources of energy and increasing environmental awareness.” The project was primarily funded by an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant administered by the Texas State Energy Conservation Office.
The project was designed and installed by TXSPC utilizing PanelClaw’s Polar Bear solar mounting solution for the180kW flat roof portion of the 245kW project. “PanelClaw’s Polar Bear was a great choice to mount the 735 panels for this project” noted Roger Jennings, Project Manager of TXSPC. “Our engineers can depend on the product’s stability against wind, our designers like its adaptability, and our installers appreciate how easy and efficient the mounts are to install. And, since they’re American made, we can use PanelClaw for federally funded projects.”
