There is a new course, for people interested in starting a business, and for existing entrepreneurs/managers looking to grow their businesses, being offered in Delray Beach, Florida. The Course was developed by, and is being taught by, Jay Goldberg, CEO of DTR Inc. The course will be taught in the Community/Adult Education Program at Atlantic Community High School in Delray Beach, Florida, and will start Monday night January 24, 2011 and run for 8 weeks. The course is for individuals thinking about starting a business as well as for existing entrepreneurs/managers looking to grow their businesses. It looks at all aspects of a running a successful business, and includes information, tools and skill building. The course follows the format of a business plan, providing information and tools on how to research, write and formulate a plan. However, the course also diverts from a business plan’s linear path, and looks at topics such as building sales and customer service skills, using the Internet to build your brand, learning how to implement an ongoing strategic planning process to help grow your business, generating rules to effectively manage your workplace and your staff, and more.
The instructor, Jay Goldberg, is also the author of the unofficial workplace rulebook, How to Get, Keep and Be Well Paid in a Job (outskirtspress.com/Goldberg). The book received excellent reviews and is being used not only by individuals, but by companies and educational institutions to train students and staff.
