Annapolis, MD, January 13, 2011 --(PR.com)-- BOMI International and Building Operating Management magazine are jointly offering the Facilities Professional Leadership Series (FPLS)—a six-week, online educational program specifically designed to give facilities professionals the proper tools, skills, and knowledge to move forward in the field.
“I have already begun applying knowledge gained from the course,” said Donald Crawford, a recent FPLS graduate. “I found all the weeks’ sessions provided me with some information that was new and useful.”
FPLS, which begins January 24 and runs through February 28, includes six web-based seminars, each featuring a 60-minute presentation led by a facility-industry expert; PDFs of every slide from every session; more than 20 articles written by industry experts, specifically selected to support the six sessions.
Each seminar addresses current and relevant information on aspects of facility management as a means toward career advancement. Topics include:
The Business of the Bottom Line
The Art of Negotiations
Working with the C-Suite
Lead and They Will Follow
Legal Responsibilities for the Facility Manager
Facilities Management in Any Economy
Judson Leverette also participated in the August 2009 FPLS session. Leverette is using what he learned to handle the effects that the economy is having on his everyday duties. “The economy forced me to look long and hard at every expenditure. I must manage not just my facilities, but also be mindful of other managers and their responsibilities as well,” he said. “This program has helped me understand how to do that and continue to achieve my goals.”
FPLS is structured to facilitate online discussions and networking between students and the instructors to establish long-lasting professional relationships. Students will learn to speak the language of finance fluently, understand the art of winning negotiations, know their department’s role within the company, master effective communication, and understand the legal responsibilities of a facility manager.
Students who take the Facilities Professional Leadership Series are eligible for nine CPD points from BOMI International.
There are no prerequisites for this online educational program. Property and facility managers from any level are invited to join. To see a detailed description of the six seminars and to register, visit www.fplseries.com.
