Extrabux is a Cash Back Website Created in the Spring Semester of 2006 by Two USC Sophomores

Los Angeles, CA, February 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Extrabux was created in the spring semester of 2006 by two USC Sophomores, Noah Auerhahn and Jeff Nobbs; both are currently enrolled in the Marshall School of Business.

Extrabux is a completely free online shopping portal with links to nearly five hundred different websites. Almost any product or service can be found at one of Extrabux's partner sites. Any time a user clicks the link to one of these websites, Extrabux earns sales commission from that website on anything the user purchases. Rather than keep this commission, Extrabux gives it back to the user.  You can essentially earn money back on all your online purchases. The users account balance will continue to grow the more they shop online and at the user’s request, Extrabux will send the user (or the charity of the user’s choice) a check for the amount earned. Or, the user can opt to receive payments via PayPal and Extrabux will deposit the earnings into their PayPal account. On top of that, Extrabux provides the user with valuable coupons and offers that can be used to help their users save even more money.

A simple way of looking at it
Imagine… You just arrived at your favorite shopping mall and someone approaches you and offers to escort you to the store of your choice. You name the store and the escort walks you right to the store's front door. To encourage the escort to bring more shoppers like you, the store decides to give the escort 15% of whatever you spend. You spend $100 and accordingly the store gives $15 to the escort. The escort could keep the money, but instead only keeps $1, and gives the rest ($14) to you.

When someone visits Extrabux for the first time, all that person needs to do to start earning cash back is register.  Registration only requires an email address, password, and a mailing address or PayPal account.  A mailing address is required only to send the user checks.  The only emails Extrabux sends are confirmation emails and a monthly newsletter.  Once registered, a user that wishes to shop online must simply go to Extrabux, sign in, and click on the link of the store where they wish to shop.  From there, the shopping experience is the same as if the user had gone directly to the merchant site.

How Extrabux makes money
Extrabux keeps a small portion of every purchase made through their website.  Each store gives Extrabux a varying commission (in the form of a percentage or flat rate).  Extrabux usually takes around one percent of each sale unless the commission is greater than 15%.  In that case Extrabux keeps 2-5%.

Extrabux works with charities by allowing its users the opportunity to donate their money to charity.  In addition, there are a few sites such that don’t allow Extrabux to track who makes the purchase.  For these sites commission is still earned, but because Extrabux doesn't know who made the purchase it cannot give cash back.  Instead of just keeping this commission, Extrabux selects a different charity each month to which it gives this commission.

It is a win-win-win situation.  If you are going to make an online purchase, there is no reason you shouldn’t go through Extrabux first.  Anyone can and everyone should use Extrabux.com.  Help Extrabux give you, your friends and family, and your favorite charity money.
