First-Ever 2011 Louisiana XC State Championship USA Cycling-Sanctioned Mountain Bike Series Concludes at Cypress Bend Resort

Shreveport, LA, January 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Consisting of seven adrenaline-pumping rounds of USA Cycling cross-country mountain bike races, the first-ever 2011 Louisiana XC State Championship Series kicks off with “LOCOfest” at Eddie Jones Park in Shreveport on April 17 and concludes with the “Battle at the Bend” at Cypress Bend Resort in northwest Louisiana on November 19.

The top three racers in each category and age group will be honored at a formal, series-end awards dinner hosted at Cypress Bend Resort’s Grand Ballroom on November 19, the Official Sponsor of the Louisiana XC State Championship Series. Moreover, as a USA Cycling sanctioned series, the top 15 racers in each category and age group will be qualified to compete at the 2012 USAC Nationals.

The Louisiana XC State Championship Series, open to competitors of any state, was created to showcase the natural diversity of Louisiana's terrain providing mountain bike enthusiasts with significant elevation changes, flowing trails and beautiful scenery.

All series races feature USAC recognized classes and categories. Racers are not required to compete in a minimum number of races.

Whether you are a seasoned veteran or just starting out in the sport, this series offers an opportunity to participate.
