Economic and Market Prognostication: 21st Century Great Global Depression Published by Outskirts Press
In this no-holds-barred expose on today’s economic maelstrom, veteran real estate investor Orest Andrew Harrison warns readers of the growing dangers for the markets ahead, and offers advice on navigating the pitfalls in today’s markets – markets which offer little if any sanctuary or safe harbor for protecting one’s assets/wealth. The old engine of the world’s economy is dead and investments today must incorporate a new strategy for non-traditional diversification among multiple asset classes.
Aberdeen, MD, January 16, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Author and real estate investor Orest Andrew Harrison today announced the release of 21st Century Great Global Depression, The Perfect Economic Storm, published by Outskirts Press. Harrison provides readers with a common sense narrative on how the American economy got where it is today and how investors now need an iconoclastic and out-of-the box investment strategy to successfully sail against the turbulent headwinds facing the U.S. and the global economy for the foreseeable future.
In a time of great economic upheaval and turbulence, Americans are faced with the prospects of managing the various challenges that befall all of us: an ever-exploding debt ceiling, trade deficits in free fall, a looming bond market correction, further bank insolvencies, currency devaluation, the threat of a doomsday derivatives debacle, effects from a retiring baby boom generation as well as a real estate market which is unable to find a bottom. The book offers an analysis on what lies ahead, as well as advice on how to traverse the dangerous financial landscape facing Americans for the next few decades.
The American Dream is not yet dead, says Harrison, even if it is currently in ICU. Nonetheless, Harrison believes the innate spirit, resolve and courage displayed by Americans through previous crises -- if coupled with true bipartisan reform as well as a willingness to hunker down as the shocks to the system play out – will triumph in the end.
Meanwhile the insights, tips and tactics offered in 21st Century Great Global Depression serve as both a warning and a wake-up call to today’s politicians and highlight the dire need for a fiscal and political reform broader than anything either the Democrats or Republicans have been able to accomplish thus far. A patriot at heart, Harrison calls upon Americans from both sides of the ideological divide to unite in their effort to forge common sense solutions for our economy before it is too late.
21st Century Great Global Depression is available on-line in paperback through Amazon and Barnes and Noble and at www.outskirtspress.com/bookstore for a maximum trade discount in quantities of ten or more.

About the author:
Orest Andrew Harrison graduated from Rutgers University after a successful childhood musical career that included placing as a semi-finalist at age eleven in the prestigious American Music Scholarship Association international piano competition as well as attendance at The High School of Performing Arts. Besides going on to compose five full length musicals – including The People’s Princess, a musical biography of Princess Diana – Mr. Harrison became an active investor in real estate. Able to read the economic writing on the wall, however, Harrison was able to divest himself of all of his real estate holdings prior to the onset of today’s no-end-in-sight real estate quagmire. Seeing the toll that the markets have taken on his piers, he has made a commitment to try to help other less prescient investors.
Mr. Harrison is the founder of www.surviveandthrivenow.com where copies of the 21st Century Great Global Depression can be ordered as well as a subscription to a monthly newsletter, The Common Sense Market Newsletter.
