Genscape Introduces Transmission Datafeed Service
Genscape makes transmission line flow data available through XML feed with new Transmission Datafeed service. More than 1,000 lines significantly affecting transmission constraints are monitored through Genscape's proprietary network.
Louisville, KY, January 18, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Genscape, the leading global provider of energy fundamentals information for commodity and financial markets, announces the commercial availability of its Transmission Datafeed service, providing real-time power flow data on more than 1,000 of the most critical transmission lines throughout the United States.
The company’s newest power data service delivers actual flow data on each line, generated exclusively from Genscape’s proprietary monitoring network and giving analysts and traders an unprecedented level of visibility into real-time congestion risks. Subscribers of the XML datafeed also receive 12 months of historical data and a reference file updated monthly that includes line limits for each monitored line.
For example, Genscape’s PJM coverage consists of over 175 lines including critical constraints such as Cloverdale–Lexington, Mount Storm–Pruntytown and Nelson–Electric Junction. This data, combined with published interface data, provides traders with visibility on 13 of the top 25 constraints that represent over 80% of congestion costs in 2010 (Jan-Sept).
Genscape will continue expansion of its Transmission Datafeed coverage based on customer input and regular assessment of top, influential constraints. Subscriptions are offered at a national level or four regional levels – PJM/MISO, NPCC, WECC, and ERCOT.
For more information on the service, including key regional line coverage detail, please contact Genscape Sales at sales@genscape.com.
