DoJiggy Announces Award Recipients from 2010 Giving Program

Boulder, CO, January 19, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Online fundraising software services provider, DoJiggy, announces 2010 award recipients for their annual DoJiggy Giving™ program, which supports nonprofits and community organizations through cash donations and in-kind software services based on a percentage of the company’s annual profits.

This year, the DoJiggy Giving Program distributed $7,500 in cash awards to ten non-profit organizations. Award recipients were selected based on the following criteria: (1) Overview of the organization’s cause and need for financial support; (2) Purpose of funding including: goals, planned activities, and timeline for implementation; (3) Expected results during funding period and evaluating measures of success.

$1,000 awards were presented to the following organizations:
- Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development (CORD USA) is a secular, non-profit that helps village groups run their own activities in an integrated, participatory and sustainable manner. CORD USA will use the funds to implement a DoJiggy Enterprise portal to centrally manage multiple fundraising events.
- Hospitality Homes provides home-away-from-home lodging for families and friends of patients seeking care at Boston-area medical centers. Awarded money will be used to establish an Emergency Needs Fund to purchase $25 pre-paid gift cards for food and transportation.
- My New Red Shoes helps homeless children and families in the San Francisco Bay Area. Grant money will be used for the “Clothing for Confidence” program, which provides homeless & low-income children with new shoes, $50 clothing gift card, and a handmade card from a child.
- Organic Consumers Association (OCA) campaigns for health, justice, sustainability, peace and democracy. Awarded funds will be used for OCA’s Via Organica project.
- The Paradigm Shift Project works to advance education on poverty, ecology, health and community development in developing countries via documentary films. Funds will be used to create curricula guides for the 'The Paradigm Shift Kit,' a free education resource package for teachers to use in their classrooms.

$500 award winners include: Global Backpack Project, Palmetto Animal League, Saving Orphans through Healthcare & Outreach, Young Heroes Foundation, and the Volunteer Action Center of Kitchener Waterloo and Area Inc.

When selecting award recipients, DoJiggy reviews the required criteria, but also strives to award organizations with diverse missions and goals. This year’s award candidate pool includes: environmental and sustainability programs, developmental projects in poverty-stricken regions, animal-rights initiatives, programs to support orphans and homeless families, and funds to assist families with medical hardships.
