Medical Weight Loss Clinic Announces Makeover Winners in Pro-Teen Giveaway
More than 500 youths took advantage of the program which MWLC offered at no cost to youths aged 10-17 as part of its continuing efforts to help fight childhood obesity.
Southfield, MI, January 20, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Medical Weight Loss Clinic (MWLC, www.mwlc.com) capped off a successful Pro-Teen Giveaway campaign with the announcement of the winners of a $500 makeover. More than 500 youths took advantage of the program which MWLC offered at no cost to youths aged 10-17 as part of its continuing efforts to help fight childhood obesity.
The six makeover winners were selected from among the patients who completed the eight-week program at one of the 34 MWLC locations throughout Michigan and across northern Ohio.
The recipients of the makeover are:
*Christopher Chunn, age 12, Dearborn - Lost 16 pounds
*Robyn Bankston, age 13, Battle Creek - Lost 12 pounds
*Kaitlyn Deforest, age 14, Jackson - Lost 19 pounds
*Jennifer Lagrow, age 15, Saginaw - Lost 14 pounds
*Brooke Pennell, age 11, Toledo - Lost 20 pounds
*Asia Tennille, age 16, Southfield - Lost 15 pounds
In addition to being eligible for the drawing for the $500 makeover, those who completed the entire eight-week program were given tickets to a Detroit Pistons game.
Like all other MWLC programs, the Pro-Teen Plan uses regular grocery store food and is customized based upon a patient’s medical profile.
“Childhood obesity is not something that will be going away anytime soon,” said Alberta Lipiniski, head nursing supervisor of Medical Weight Loss Clinic. “But we have shown these young people that with enough determination, desire, discipline and dedication, childhood obesity can be conquered. Our hope is that they will continue to utilize the tools and support that we have provided and continue to lead a healthier lifestyle.”
