The Resolutions Firm Teams with Local Firms to Raise Money for Charity

The Resolutions Firm participated in a charity dodgeball tournament to help raise money for The Boys and Girls Club of Venice and Operation Smile.

San Diego, CA, January 21, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Resolutions Firm joined forces with local firms in a charity dodgeball tournament called the Winter Throwdown Dodgeball Tournament. Members of The Resolutions Firm made up one of sixteen teams participating to raise money for both the Boys and Girls Club of Venice and Operation Smile. The tournament was able to raise almost $2000 with all profits split fifty- fifty between both charities.

The Boys & Girls Club of Venice hosted the event at their location on Lincoln Blvd. The Resolutions Firm has participated in several charity and fundraising events for Operation Smile over the past year. This is the second event the team has done to raise money for The Boys and Girls Club.

The Boys and Girls clubs pride themselves on offering “A safe, family-friendly, community oriented place for children ages 6 to 17 to enjoy fun and games. The club offers multiple activities, including basketball, pool, theatre arts, visual arts and more. The building is massive, with plenty to do and plenty of volunteers willing to help steer kids in a positive direction. The club is open limited hours during the school year, but is open all day during the summer and vacations.”

Operation Smile is an organization The Resolutions Firm has been excited to be a part of over the last few months. Operation Smile has relied on the support of charity donations to help provide free surgeries for children born with cleft lips or cleft palates. It is a surgery that costs only $240 and can change the entire path of a child’s life.

Sunday’s tournament was made up of teams with a minimum of 6 players and one alternate (optional; only if needed if injury or absences occur) and maximum of 10 players. The teams were a mixture of co-ed teams with no formula for the number of guys or gals on a team. Each team donated a $100 entrance fee.

Trophies and prizes were given for 1st place as well as the team member with the most creative uniform. The companies also joined forces bringing in baked goods to sell for the charity. The children of the Boys and Girls Club also got together and decorated a donated surfboard that was given away as a raffle prize.

“I love being a part of a company that gives back to the community. I could not be prouder of the team we have at The Resolutions Firm who voluntarily made the two hour trip up to Los Angeles just to be able to participate in the event. While our company does not work with non-profit organizations, we like to think it is our responsibility as a successful company to give back to the community. I am excited that so many of the employees we have feel the same way,” states Sara Stafford, Managing Partner.

In a competitive double elimination bracket, The Resolutions Firm went undefeated until the final round where they would have to settle for second place.
