Mark Lowham to Join Luxury Real Estate Leader TTR/Sotheby’s International Realty as Principal and Managing Partner
Washington, DC, January 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- TTR/Sotheby’s International Realty announced that Mark C. Lowham, former Executive Vice President of WEST*GROUP, will join the firm as an investor and Managing Partner.
According to Jonathan Taylor, Founder and Managing Partner of TTR/Sotheby’s International Realty, “We are thrilled that Mark is joining us as a partner. Building on his 22 years at WEST*GROUP, he brings extraordinary expertise in the real estate industry, and he is recognized as one of the true community leaders in the Washington region.”
Lowham will focus on accelerating the strong momentum of TTR/Sotheby’s International Realty. In 2010, the firm achieved a 41% increase in total sales over 2009. Lowham notes, “TTR/Sotheby’s International Realty is well positioned to become the dominant leader in the luxury real estate market in the Mid-Atlantic. I have known Michael Rankin, Jonathan Taylor and the other partners in the firm for nearly 20 years. They have exceptional experience and are very well respected across the industry. Lowham will focus on long-term strategic planning, business development, and leveraging the resources of Sotheby’s International Realty to continue to build market share in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Lowham will remain active in a number of educational and non-profit organizations in the Washington Region. He is currently a member of the Board of Visitors of George Mason University where he chairs the Real Estate Committee, he serves as a Commissioner of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, and he is one of three private sector members of the Council of Governments Committee on Energy and the Environment. Lowham is a long-standing supporter of a number of regional charitable organizations. He currently serves as Chairman of INOVA’s Life with Cancer Program, a member of the Executive Committee of CharityWorks, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Medical Care for Partnership Foundation. He is also an Honorary Trustee of the McLean Community Foundation and an active supporter of The Trust for the National Mall.
Lowham is a native of Wyoming and prior to joining WEST*GROUP, he worked in the Corporate Finance Department of Kidder, Peabody & Company in New York. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from Stanford University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
