Calloway's and Cornelius Nursery Announce Annual Gardening Series for Children
Fort Worth, TX, January 23, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery will host educational gardening events at all of its locations for children ages 5-10 throughout the year.
Starting on Sunday, Feb. 13, children accompanied by a parent are encouraged to visit any Calloway’s or Cornelius Nursery garden center and participate in a free potting station to celebrate Valentine’s Day. A similar event will take place on Mother’s Day – May 8th.
In the summer, the Callie’s Kids Summer Series will return on the third Wednesday of June, July and August. The activities are meant to teach children the importance of recycling and provide some outdoor gardening fun. Each event will last about an hour; from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the O2 Planting for the Future Station at all Calloway’s and Cornelius Nursery locations. This is the third year that the garden center has offered these types of activities during the summer. In the fall, all families are encouraged to visit the nursery to participate in the Fall Harvest Festival. During this all-day event, children can participate in gardening activities, enjoy free popcorn and a free pie pumpkin for decorating.
All events are free and available while supplies last. Due to increasing demand, parents and guardians are encouraged to pre-register for the summer events at mytexasgarden.com. Large groups should contact the Calloway’s corporate office. More information can be found at or mytexasgarden.com.
