ACS to Unveil New Service Instant Message Tool at NADA

Windows® Based ACCESS Dealer Management System (DMS) upgrades Service Advisor and Technician Communications with On Screen Alert Bubble.

Mobile, AL, January 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- “Our Service Managers told us it was all about communications. Improving the flow of information passed between the tech and the advisor meant better service to customers and improved shop efficiency,” Tom Edwards explained. “Creating a tool for the tech that would grab the advisor’s attention without physically walking across the shop floor was the goal of this enhancement. We used the tools that Microsoft Windows gives us to create an on-screen instant message alert that floats over the advisor’s Service Writer Pro (SWP) screen that commands attention.”

This enhanced communication tool is a free upgrade for ACS ACCESS DMS dealerships and is currently available within the Service application. In the near future is will be added to the other areas of the DMS.

Instant Messaging with ACS
Rather than creating a separate application, or requiring ACS customers to purchase a third party application, ACS developed a powerful internal Instant Messaging (IM) communications tool within the ACCESS DMS a number of years ago. By adding Windows technology to this IM tool, ACS was able to create a unique “Alert Bubble” specifically for the tech –advisor application. Once developed, its usefulness was immediately apparent and the tool will be implemented throughout the entire DMS in coming months.

Latest Service Enhancement
This is the latest release for the ACS ACCESS service application. Other Service Department enhancements this year have included the release of the all new Service Writer Pro application, Quick Lube, and Text Messaging.
