Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP Names Emily Milligan, Christopher Rizzo and Ethan Silver Counsel
New York, NY, January 27, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP (www.clm.com) is pleased to announce that Emily Milligan, Christopher Rizzo and Ethan L. Silver have been promoted to counsel, effective January 1, 2011. All were formerly associates of the Firm.

Emily Milligan is a member of Carter Ledyard’s Litigation Department. Emily’s practice focuses primarily on employment law, including the enforcement of restrictive covenants and the protection of trade secrets. She represents employers on matters involving claims of unfair competition, wrongful termination, discrimination and disputes over executive compensation. Emily also works on general commercial litigation matters, including disputes involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, securities and common law fraud claims. She acts as Secretary to Carter Ledyard’s Ethics Committee. Emily graduated, cum laude, from Boston College with a B.A. in 1999. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School in 2003.
Christopher Rizzo is a member of Carter Ledyard’s Litigation Department and the Environmental Practice Group. He handles transactional matters as well as litigation dealing with environmental impact review, land-use and zoning, historic preservation, hazardous materials, open space conservation and climate change. He also manages general litigation matters, often concerning international contract disputes. Outside the firm, he serves as an adjunct professor at Pace University Law School, co-chair of The New York State Bar Association’s Parks and Historic Preservation Committee and a “Green Associate” of the U.S. Green Building Council. Chris received his B.A. from Manhattan College, summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, in 1997. He received his J.D., cum laude, from Pace University School of Law in 2001 where he was Articles Editor of the Pace Environmental Law Review.
Ethan L. Silver is a member of Carter Ledyard’s Corporate Department. His practice focuses primarily on advising financial institution clients, specifically broker-dealers and investment advisers, on regulatory, compliance, enforcement, and examination issues related to federal and state securities laws and the rules of various self-regulatory organizations, including FINRA. He is a member of SIFMA Compliance and Legal Division. Prior to joining Carter Ledyard, Ethan was Senior Counsel, Division of Enforcement, at the New York Stock Exchange, 2005-2007, and enforcement attorney at the New Jersey Attorney General, Bureau of Securities, 2002-2005. Ethan received his B.A. from The University of Maryland, College Park, in 1998. He received his J.D. from New York Law School in 2002.
