Interest in Dove Evolution Continues with Behind the Scenes "Making Of" Video

Toronto, Canada, February 08, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The 75-second viral ad Dove “Evolution”, by Toronto’s Ogilvy & Mather took the world by storm after being released on YouTube this past October 2006, with over 4 million views on YouTube alone. As part of Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty, the spot garnered incredible buzz both online and offline with tremendous worldwide attention from major media outlets. Much discussion was raised as to how the video was completed, along with questions on what software was used in the transformation of model.

Rogue Editorial’s Paul Gowan, the editor who oversaw the cutting of the Dove spot says, “The advertising community and general public are fascinated about how we did the execution, which prompted the ‘Making of Dove’ video.” He explains in the video the post production process that brought about the stunning visuals of the digitally altered face within a quick sequence of images that appear to be a single shot.

The behind-the-scenes video shows the collaboration between Paul Gowan at Rogue Editorial and Toronto’s well-respected post production house Soho with Ogilvy’s art director Tim Piper, along with commentary from the photographer Gabor Jurina and Vapor Music, who were responsible for the haunting and memorable melody. In less than five minutes, the “Making Of” explains to the viewer the process of taking the video footage from the shoot with hundreds of photographer’s stills from the off-line editing stage to the creation of the Photoshop-like software design used to ‘manipulate’ the model’s images through the crafty animation work by Soho’s Kevin Gibson. Soho’s FX team also include Flame artist Terry Rose, Inferno artist Andy Hunter and post producer, Stefani Kouverianos. A complete credit listing can be found below.
