The Northeastern Retail Lumber Association has announced that its 2011 LBM EXPO moved to Foxwoods after 34 years in Boston and is seeing unprecedented growth in attendance badges (+7% Retail Members) and room reservations (+79%) so far. The trade show takes place February 2-4, 2011. For more information go to www.nrla.org or www.lbmexpo.com.
Rensselaer, NY, January 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The 2011 Lumber and Building Materials EXPO has experienced unprecedented growth, based on the room nights reserved for the 117th trade show, as well as registrations received to date according to President Rita Ferris.
“This year’s show will require well over 3,100 room nights in terms of housing. We have not used that many hotel rooms since 2007 when we had 3,227 in Boston,” said Ferris. “Additionally, our retail member registration is trending ahead 7% to date.”
After 34 years in the Boston area, 10 of which were in the Seaport World Trade Center, the LBM EXPO moved to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT. “Our decision to move to Connecticut was based on a study of our members’ support for a change of venue,” according to Ferris. “We’re proud of the member loyalty we have, as well as the exhibitors who have stayed with us for many years.”
“Foxwoods has worked very well with us,” said Ferris, “but when all the room blocks were filled and we still had demand, we had to open a block of rooms at the Mohegan Sun as well.”
The 2011 LBM EXPO is demonstrating that the retail lumber and building materials industry in the northeast and mid-atlantic states is strong and healthy. It is the largest show of its kind in the country. The LBM EXPO is scheduled February 2-4, 2011 at the MGM Grand at Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT. It is open to the lumber and building materials trade, architects, code officials and the press. For more information, visit www.nrla.org or www.lbmexpo.com.
