United Country Real Estate Named Among America’s Top Brokerages by The Land Report®

Kansas City, MO, January 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- The Land Report recently named United Country Real Estate among the top real estate land brokerage companies in the nation in the article, “America's Best Brokerages.” Closing approximately $1 billion in land sales annually, United Country is the largest land brokerage listed in this special report, which evaluated the nation’s leading land brokerages based on 2010 sales results.

According to Jason Cole, chief financial officer of United Country Real Estate, land was the company’s most improved property segment throughout 2010, posting a nearly 20 percent increase over 2009 land sales volume and a 10 percent increase in land units sold during the same period.

“Our offices across the nation began to report a rebound in land sales in early 2010 and those numbers held steady throughout the year. What it comes down to is that people know that land is not only a great long-term investment, but it is priced right in this market and is also the only investment that can provide outstanding recreational opportunities and annual revenue when managed properly,” said Dan Duffy, chief executive officer of United Country. “Land has been and will always be a core segment of our business. As Will Rogers said, 'Buy land, they aren’t making any more of the stuff.'”

In addition to United Country’s national recognition among America’s Best Brokerages offering nationwide services, two United Country affiliates were also included in the regional results. United Country – Gibson Realty of McComb, Miss., owned by Patrick Gibson, was named one of the south’s top real estate brokerages, recording a nearly 65 percent increase in volume in 2010. The office secured United Country Real Estate’s Top Office title for the third straight year among the company’s nearly 600 offices nationwide.

The Land Report also recognized United Country’s National Director of Business Development, Michael Landreth, founder of Landreth Land Company, based in Eagle, Colo., as one of the top brokerages in the west. Landreth, ALC, GRI, CRS, is a past president of the Realtors Land Institute and one of the nation’s leading land sales experts.
