Central Carolina Hospital Nationally Recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center

Central Carolina was recently recognized as a certified Quality Breast Center, becoming the first hospital in North Carolina and one of only 22 in the nation to achieve this certification.

Sanford, NC, January 28, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Reaching yet another milestone, Central Carolina Hospital was recently recognized as a Certified Quality Breast Center by the National Consortium of Breast Centers, a national organization which tracks breast cancer across the country. CCH is the first hospital in North Carolina and one of only 22 hospitals in the nation to be recognized with this certification, according to the consortium’s website.

"The designation is another way to show that we are ensuring quality care and providing our patients with accurate evaluation and appropriate services," said Gwyn Sandlin, CCH's breast health navigator. "That our hospital chooses to do this voluntarily shows that we are striving to do the best we can for patients here in the community."

The National Quality Measures for Breast Centers™ Program (NQMBC) allows Central Carolina Hospital’s Breast Center to track and measure performance in more than 30 separate quality indicators. The hospital then submits data on patient care every 6 months to the consortium, where it is measured against benchmarks set from other hospitals across the nation.
