Redeemed from Hell on the Streets of LA: He Kan’t Kill Your Future Published by Outskirts Press
Sharquent Webster’s unflinching look at her own life reveals how she became a disciple of the dark, criminal underground of Los Angeles where those with no future and with nothing to lose will do whatever they need to for their next high.
Doraville, GA, February 04, 2011 --(PR.com)-- Author Sharquent Webster announced today the release of her memoir, He Kan’t Kill Your Future, For I Know the Plans I Have for You, Declares the Lord, published by Outskirts Press. Sharquent’s graphic and candid tale is one of a remarkable journey of a woman to hell and back on the streets of L.A. before her miraculous redemption by the Lord.
Before she was even old enough to drive, Sharquent had already experienced adulthood. She was secretly raised by child molesters and predators, living an underground life for many years. She had developed a drug addiction and become a thief. She learned at an early age to hustle, to snatch purses and to walk the streets at night, almost always high as a kite on weed, PCP or crack cocaine.
This is a frank, disturbing look at a world of street people so on the edge of life that all normal rules of survival and morality have long since been abandoned. Dodging the law, sleeping in “abandominiums,” doing whatever it takes to get their next high, these unfortunate souls lead a life that most people cannot even conceive of, even in their worst nightmares.
Sharquent’s honesty provides a frightening tale and one that should be read by at-risk youth, social service workers or anyone moving toward these rough roads, not only so they can see the dangers of being on that path, but also so they can learn that there is a way out, just as there was for Sharquent.
When the author finally stumbled on Victory Outreach, a women’s rehabilitation home and ministry, she learned that despite her past, Jesus still loved her and if she believed in herself enough, she could still have a future.
